Who cares for the team, that cares for the clients?
I have spent over 15 years committed to caring and advocating for children, young people, and families. I am an experienced practitioner with leadership expertise across the community services sector. I’ve had the privilege of leading diverse and talented teams across the statutory child protection system, out of home care residential care and Non-Government disability service.
I specialise and have a strong interest in providing professional supervision, education and training to casework teams, leaders within the child protection and out of home care setter. Psychological safety and ensuring that within the crisis work, there is time to reflect and ensure evidence based practice when making significant decisions, within such a complex system. My strong professional values of advocacy, holistic care and collaborative approach to safety and wellbeing, is integral to our practice for children, young people and vulnerable families.
"In complex care systems, the biggest risk isn't just the caseload, its the silence within a team"
I want to create a space where we are not reactive to complexity and risks, but future focused on a service system that takes the responsibility to create positive change and most importantly safety, wellbeing and keeping the child/client visible and at the care of decision making that significantly impacts their life.
My interests and practice is primarily informed by:
